 OF SPECIAL INTEREST TO ARTISTS Collioure just 40 minutes by car is our equivalent of St. Tropez. A pretty Catalan fishing village full of winding streets and artists studios. Salvador Dali and Matisse both spent time painting here. The town of Ceret, in the adjoining Tech valley, has a Museum of Modern Art which offer an interesting permanent collection of art and special exhibitions. As well as this the whole town is very arty and the streets are full of smaller art galleries with an eclectic mix of art. The Saturday morning market is very good, offering tastings of good local produce and wines. Pablo Casals concerts - July & August in and around Prades. |
